My5TV is an Android app that allows you to watch free live streams of various video channels. Unlike other apps on the market, this one is hosted on my5tv.tv, so you have the option to sign in with your Twitter account or with your Facebook account (to make your channel friend-friendly).
The app is divided into two categories: live videos and recorded videos. If you want to watch live streams, you can access them by either tapping on the channel name, or via a scrolling list. However, if you want to watch recorded videos, you must click on a channel on the left side of the screen, and scroll through the list of videos.

Your basic streaming capabilities are limited to these two options, and they are limited to what the provider allows. My5TV does not require a cable or satellite subscription, so you don’t have access to content from Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, TNT, or other premium providers. However, it does have access to YouTube channels, and the YouTube channel has its own mobile app with limited capabilities, and therefore there are some channels missing from My5TV.
The app is free to download, and you can use it for a limited time. After you open it, you can’t use the service without My5TV Activate, which costs $4.99 per month. When you sign up for a My5TV account, you can also access a library of some 700 live streams. Most of these streams are dedicated to video gaming, and they are sponsored by well-known brands like Amazon, which brings a nice amount of income to the app. If you have a YouTube channel, there’s a possibility that some of the streams on My5TV are from your channel, which means you can make more money from them, but it’s up to you to decide whether that’s worth the cost of your channel subscription.
What’s interesting is that, as far as we can tell, My5TV is the only live streaming app on Android that allows you to watch videos without signing up for a subscription. The three other live streaming apps on the market – Yify+, Stream, and Videohub
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that My5TV isn’t for everyone. First, if you have a subscription, then you’ll have to pay $4.99 per month, and that’s without even using any of the channel content. That’s an expensive price tag for a free app, which isn’t what we would call “free” at all. Second, to a degree, you can access YouTube live streams, and if that’s important to you, then you can watch those videos with a Youtube account. However, it seems that My5TV isn’t designed for use with YouTube, or for that matter, with anything other than streaming channels on my5tv.tv.
